Grading of paper money

The value of each banknote is directly related to the condition of it.
This examples can help you to grade your banknotes.

2 US-Dollar Poor P This banknote has been in circulation for a long time, it is dirty, has tears and some parts are even missing. In the conditionn the note has no value. Most of the time it makes no sense, to collect banknotes like this.
1 Pound Greatbritan Good G This banknote has been well circulated, is dirty and can have holes or tears. Collecting a note like this makes only sense, if the note is very rare or special.
1 Dong Vietnam Very Good VG This banknote is well circulated. It is well used, may have small holes in the middle due to the folding.
20 Fr Pestalozzi Fine F This banknote is less circulated. The edges may be round. It is folded more then once, but there are no holes.
1 Rial Oman Very Fine VF This banknote can be folded more then once. It looks quite new, however the color is not as bright as on a new one.
2$ Singapur Almost Uncirculated AU
or AUNC
This banknote is folded once or even a few times, but it still looks like a crisp new one.
5 Fr Tell Uncirculated UNC This banknote has never been circulated. It is absolutely new and has no foldings at all.
